Our colleagues in West Cork are hosting a music event at West Cork Arts Centre, Skibbereen on World Music Day, Saturday 21 June. The event is free and will take place from 1-3pm.
American singer songwriter, Liz Clark, will perform Pete Seeger songs. Other acts will include Clon Drums, Bantry Community Choir and traditional music with Ann Coughlan and friends. The Independent Scouts, a young band formed as part of Skibb Smiles, an initiative that aims to address youth mental health in creative ways, will also perform. The event will conclude with an open music session. All are welcome. Drop in at any time to listen, participate or perform. Tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available.
The event is hosted by the HSE Cork Mental Health Services, West Cork Arts Centre and Music Alive and is part of The Open Door project, which aims to create a space for accessible music making and community participation.
