Cork Ignite Friday 18 September

We have been very quiet in recent months, but are happy to be back in touch to let you know about an exciting arts and disability event that will be happening in Cork as part of Culture Night on 18 September 2015.

Cork Ignite will be a spectacular event. The facade of the Cork College of Commerce will be brought to life through 3D projections using state of the art technology and an accompanying music score. The event starts at 9.00-9.15pm on Union Quay and is free of charge.

The project was developed by the UK artist, Simon McKeown, working in partnership with local artists and disability agencies including Suisha Inclusive Arts at COPE Foundation and SoundOUT, the National Sculpture FactoryCreate and Cork City Council.

Ignite was initiated by the Arts Council and is the largest ever investment in Ireland’s arts and disability sector, with projects taking place in Cork, Galway and Mayo. The programme is managed by a partnership involving the Arts Council, Arts & Disability Ireland (ADI), Cork City Council, Galway City and County Councils, and Mayo County Council. Cork Ignite is also supported through the HSE Cork Arts and Health Programme.

See the Cork Culture Night website for more information about Ignite and lots of other great (& free) events that are taking place in Cork on Friday 18 September.
