… about the upcoming launch of Beyond Diagnosis next Monday!
Arts + Minds build opportunities for feedback (from participants, staff and artists) into our work on an ongoing basis, but we also believe it is important that our work is underpinned by independent evaluation and research. In 2011, with funding from the Health Services National Partnership Forum, Arts + Minds commissioned Lydia Sapouna from the Department of Applied Social Studies at University College Cork, to investigate the impact and potential of the arts within mental health care, and to consider the area of care planning in particular. Beyond Diagnosis – the transformative potential of the arts in mental health recovery is the result of that research process.
Minister Kathleen Lynch T.D., Minister of State with responsibility for Mental Health, Disability, Equality, and Older People will launch Beyond Diagnosis next Monday, 8 October 2012. The event will take place in Millennium Hall, Cork City Hall, at 1.30pm. We hope you will join us at the launch. All are welcome, but please email aidan.warner@hse.ie if you wish to attend. We will post an update and images from the event here next week, and the report, Beyond Diagnosis, will also be available to download soon.
